Thinking of eloping along the coast? Sharon and Shiang’s dreamy Great Ocean Road elopement might just be all the inspiration you need! As a Melbourne elopement photographer, I have to admit this is in my top 3 places for an elopement in Victoria. It is pure magic!

A Destination Elopement from Singapore to the Great Ocean Road

Sharon and Shiang travelled all the way from Singapore to elope along the rugged southern coastline of Victoria, Australia. Their vision was simple: something intentional, deeply personal, and surrounded by wild beauty. The Great Ocean Road offered just that, dramatic cliffs, secluded lookouts, and a moody beach that looked like something out of a movie.

Getting Ready Separately & A Sweet First Look

Their day began slowly and separately, getting ready in a cozy, character-filled treehouse cabin , nestled in the forest. With nerves buzzing and excitement building, they met for a heartfelt first look. The moment was just the two of them, eyes wide, hands trembling, hearts beating fast—set the tone for the rest of their elopement day.

Coffee, Vows & Quirky Cabin Moments

After their first look, they sat down to share a coffee and write their vows together, surrounded by warm morning light and the rustic charm of the cabin. These quiet, unhurried moments are the heart of why I love elopements.

They played piano, danced, and laughed over vintage trinkets scattered throughout the space—a typewriter, old binoculars, mismatched books—turning their elopement day into an adventure all its own.

The Cliffs: Hidden Lookout Vows on the Great Ocean Road

We headed out to a hidden clifftop lookout—a secret spot I scouted just for S&S along the Great Ocean Road. With wind in their hair and the ocean roaring below, Sharon and Shiang exchanged their handwritten vows in one of the most emotional ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed.

Tears, laughter, wind, and waves—it was everything an intimate elopement ceremony should be. It felt like it was just them, standing at the edge of the world, beginning the rest of their lives together.

A Moody Sunset at Gibson Steps

As the sun dipped lower, we made our way to Gibson Steps, one of the most iconic spots on the Great Ocean Road. But this time, it looked completely different. A thick sea fog had rolled in, cloaking the cliffs in mist and creating the most dramatic, cinematic atmosphere.

It was eerie, beautiful, unforgettable. The kind of mood that makes you forget time even exists.

I’ve photographed at Gibson Steps many times, but I’ve never seen it quite like this! It felt like the ocean had shown up just for them.

Why Elope on the Great Ocean Road?

If you’re dreaming of an elopement that blends raw natural beauty with deeply personal connection, the Great Ocean Road is one of the best elopement destinations in Australia. From misty cliffs to golden beaches and hidden gems only locals know about—it’s a place that holds space for love stories of all kinds.

As a Melbourne elopement photographer who specialises in adventure elopements, I help couples create experiences that are stress-free, intentional, and unforgettable.
