When Sarah and Max first approached us, they shared their desire for a personal day—an intimate celebration just for the two of them. As their plans began to unfold, a spark ignited when they discovered we would be traveling to Greece later that year. Although they weren’t engaged yet, they both knew they wanted an international elopement that captured their love in a breathtaking setting and decided to head over to Greece to have an elopement on the gorgeous island, Santorini.

The Secret Santorini Proposal Surprise

But there was more than just one secret at play! Max had the brilliant idea to surprise Sarah with a romantic proposal the day before their elopement day. He reached out to us, wanting to capture this special moment so that they could always look back on how special it was. We devised a clever plan: Linden and I told Sarah that we needed models for a photoshoot for our portfolio, and they enthusiastically agreed.

A Magical Proposal Overlooking Santorini

We helped Max find a stunning rooftop restaurant/accomodation, Cocoon Suites that has panoramic views of Santorini’s famous cliffs. As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a golden hue over the island, Max got down on one knee, and Sarah’s reaction was priceless. It was the most special moment and an incredible start to their elopement! They then celebrated with a private dinner overlooking the stunning landscape.

The Elopement Day Begins

The next day was dedicated to their elopement, beginning with the Sarah and Max writing vows, getting ready at their beautiful accommodation, which featured a luxurious indoor-outdoor pool. After they got ready they shared the sweetest emotional first look before having their ceremony on their rooftop.

Santorini Elopement Tip: Santorini is incredibly beautiful, but it is also very busy (especially in August). We would definitely recommend having your ceremony at your accomodation/ a private venue so that you can have an intimate moment together and avoid the crowds.

A Symbolic Ceremony with Hand-fasting

Their ceremony was intimate and symbolic, featuring a traditional hand-fasting ritual that beautifully represented their union. Surrounded by the enchanting landscape of Santorini, they celebrated their love in a way that felt both personal and meaningful.

Santorini Sunsets Hit Differently

Following the ceremony, we ventured to a stunning sunset location. Linden and I scouted this sunset spot for it’s iconic church with an incredible view—far from the bustling crowds of the more famous spots in Oia. It was one of the most insane sunsets we have ever witnessed!

Surprise Elopement Announcement

On their return to Australia, Sarah and Max had an “engagement party” where they announced that they eloped with their video. It was an amazing surprise and way to celebrate with their family.
