Okay, when I tell you this shoot was a dream, I mean it. It is moments like this when I have to pinch myself to believe that this is my job! Being out in nature, exploring incredible places along the coast of Victoria, taking photos of two people in love, how can it get better than this? If you love the beach and incredible clifftop views, get ready to be inspired because this was one of my favourite shoots, at one of my favourite locations in all of Victoria!

Hannie + Jackson’s Engagement Photos at Kilcunda

A beautiful sunset on the coast of Victoria

Just near the entrance to Phillip Island and a 1.5-hour drive from Melbourne, lay some of the most picturesque coastal views in Victoria. Our shoot began on the beach, where the clouds created the softest, dreamiest light to begin their shoot. They explored rock pools, snuggled up in the whimsical grasses and even played with bubbles!

Cute Bubble Photos on the Beach

I always encourage couples to bring activities or something meaningful to their shoot. Not only does it make great photos, but it also allows you to relax and forget about having your photo taken. Hannie + Jackson chose to bring bubbles down onto the beach, and it was so fun getting creative with them!

Incredible Sunset Views from the Clifftop

After exploring on the beach, we headed up to the stunning clifftops to watch the sunset. To our amazement, despite the earlier cloud coverage, the sun put on an incredible display! Hannie and Jackson also brought along some balloons which were the perfect pastel colours, reflecting the pink that painted the sky.

The Perfect Outfits for an Engagement Shoot

Now, I cannot write a blog and not mention what they were wearing because their outfits were STUNNING! The perfect, effortless, elegant outfits that give beach vibes and also scream engagement. Hannie wore a beautiful silk white dress with the cutest bow at the back (did you know bows are in for 2024, and we’re so here for it!). We often don’t recommend heels for beach shoots, but if you’re going to wear them, these were perfect! Opt for a thicker heel and make sure they aren’t too high. You want to be comfortable to move around and don’t want to sink. Jackson wore a white shirt and beige pants, perfectly complementing Hannie’s outfit.

About Kilcunda

Situated just an hour’s drive south of the famous Mornington Peninsula, Kilcunda remains a hidden gem among Victoria’s coastal locations. With its incredible beaches, rock formations, cliffs, and rock pools, it has become one of our favourite spots to capture love. And the best part? Because it is so unknown, we often have the entire area to ourselves!

Kilcunda Sunset Picnic

Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing another beautiful engagement shoot here with France + Tim. They opted for a stunning sunset picnic atop the cliffs where we were gifted the most insane sunset! Check out their full story here: An Adventure Engagement Shoot in Victoria.
